TODD HIDO / ROBERT ADAMS_ Juxtaposition

Todd Hido devoted part of his work at night exploration of urban landscapes. His photographs invite us to imagine the stories behind the lighted windows, the only sign of life of these sleeping houses, plunged in darkness.
30 years earlier, in the mid 70s, Robert Adams was strolling the streets of Longmont, Colorado, capturing the effects of moon and streetlamps, light almost unreal, on houses fronts, but also roads, trees and hills. He offered us a solitary walk bathed in the sweet poetry of summer nights (these photographs have been collected in the book recently reissued : “Summer Nights, Walking”).______________________
